Kadapa special Ghee Karam dosa is made by spreading a spicy red chutney (Erra Karam), Groundnut Chutney and putnala pappulu powder over thin crispy dosa. Ghee Karam dosa is very famous in the Kadapa Town of Rayalaseema region in South India.
Ingredients for Ghee Kara Dosa Preparation
- Dosa Batter – 4 cups
- For red chilli chutney – 5 Dry Red Chillies, 1 Onion, Salt – 1 Tsp
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Ghee -1 tsp
- Gram Flour/Roasted Split chickpeas/putnala pappulu – 2 Tsp
Preparation method:
- Erra Karam chutney recipe – Grind Red chilies, onions and salt. The same recipe is shown in the link.
- Putnalu papu powder – Grind the putnalu and salt into a fine powder.
- Peanut chutney – Optional. – Grind Peanut, green chilies and salt. The paste of Peanut chutney is shared in the other video.
- Mix the dosa batter with the required water and salt.
- Heat the dosa pan and spread the batter a thin dosa. Drizzle a little oil over and fry the dosa on both sides.
- Spread one tbsp of Karam chutney. Peanut chutney on the dosa and sprinkle the putnala powder uniformly.
- Fold the dosa to half and add Ghee for the taste.
- Karam Dosa is ready to eat!!
